SUMMARY:1st Night of Chanukah
DESCRIPTION:We commemorate the Chanukah story each year during the 8-day festival of Chanukah. This festival celebrates the victory of the Maccabees\, the Jewish freedom fighters\, who routed the Syrian-Greeks from the Holy Land and restored the Temple service. The culmination of the miracle was when a small bottle of pure oil—enough to fuel the Temple menorah for one day—burned for 8 days straight. \nThis year\, December 14\, 2025\, on the first night of Chanukah\, we begin this festival with the blessings and lighting the first candle together with our congregation family. Play games or watch a Chanukah movie\, FUN! Chanukah desserts.

SUMMARY:Passover
DESCRIPTION:Passover (Pesach) is a deeply significant festival for Messianic Jews\, commemorating both the ancient redemption of Israel from slavery in Egypt and the greater spiritual redemption found in Yeshua\, the Messiah. The holiday\, observed on the 14th of Nisan\, recalls how God delivered the Israelites through the blood of the Passover lamb\, sparing their firstborn from judgment (Exodus 12). This foreshadows the ultimate Passover Lamb—Yeshua—who gave His life as a sacrifice for the sins of the world. For Messianic believers\, Passover is not only a remembrance of the Exodus but also a celebration of the freedom and new life found in Messiah\, who was crucified during this appointed time\, fulfilling the prophetic meaning of the feast. \nMessianic Passover Seders incorporate traditional elements such as matzah (unleavened bread)\, maror (bitter herbs)\, and the four cups of wine\, but with an emphasis on their fulfillment in Yeshua. The broken matzah\, known as the afikomen\, symbolizes His body\, which was broken for us\, and the third cup\, the Cup of Redemption\, reflects His blood of the New Covenant. The seder highlights God’s faithfulness and His plan of salvation\, uniting Jewish tradition with the fulfillment found in Messiah. As believers in Yeshua\, Messianic Jews see Passover not only as a historical remembrance but also as an ongoing prophetic picture of His return\, when He will gather His people and establish His Kingdom in fullness.

SUMMARY:Purim
DESCRIPTION:Purim is a joyous Jewish holiday that commemorates the salvation of the Jewish people from a plot to annihilate them in ancient Persia\, as recorded in the biblical Book of Esther. The story revolves around Queen Esther and her cousin Mordechai\, who courageously thwarted the wicked plans of Haman\, the royal advisor to King Ahasuerus (often identified with Xerxes I). Haman had decreed the extermination of the Jews\, but through Esther’s bravery and divine providence\, the decree was overturned\, and the Jewish people were saved. The holiday is observed on the 14th of Adar (or the 15th in walled cities like Jerusalem) and is marked by festive celebrations\, reading the Megillah (Book of Esther)\, and acts of charity. \nPurim is one of the most exuberant holidays in Judaism\, emphasizing themes of reversal\, survival\, and hidden miracles. Traditional customs include giving gifts of food (mishloach manot)\, donating to the poor (matanot la’evyonim)\, and partaking in a festive meal (seudat Purim) with joyous singing and drinking. Many people wear costumes to highlight the theme of hidden identities\, much like how Esther concealed her Jewish heritage. The holiday also includes the boisterous tradition of making noise whenever Haman’s name is mentioned during the Megillah reading\, symbolizing the eradication of his memory. Purim is a time of communal unity\, gratitude\, and celebration\, reminding Jews of the resilience of their people and the importance of faith and courage.
